Handling Application Forms
Application forms can seem a real nuisance. They can take hours to complete and often ask for information which is already in your CV.
So why do companies want you to complete an application form?
- They provide information in a standard format which can easily be compared
- They can ask for information not usually in a CV
- Because they take time to complete – they can discourage those who are not seriously interested in the job
But...
- An application form gives you the opportunity to convince an employer that your are worth seeing for an interview
- It’s not always the best applicants who are invited to interviews – it’s the ones who complete their applications form best
